On
Saturday 3/27/04, I started off with setting the first ever 100.5mph
record pass on the books. I ended up the day with a two way average of
99.4mph using a M&D Design G260 modified Zenoah and MPH Tune Pipe
and a 2170 2 blade Octura Prop.
On Sunday 3/28/04, I ended up with a best one way pass of 102.3mph
using a CC Racing G260 modified Zenoah and J&G pipe and a 2170 2
blade Octura Prop. Unfortunately, on the back up pass I destroyed the
boat and that ended my weekend.
As a
personal note, weather conditions were extreme (mid/high 80's) which
made it difficult to back the passes up. This was also my first time
running a rigger, let alone any boat at these speeds. This was quite a
RUSH!!!! Both engines performed very well under these circumstances. I
learned so much from the experience that I can't wait for the next one!!

I appreciate everyone's support and congratulations. However, I would
like to start off with thanking the people behind my weekend at the SAW
trials. While this was a concept for over a year, it was all made
possible within the last 3 weeks. Now you know where I get the name
Insane from. This was done with a lot hard work, dedication, and
sleepless nights. That was a feat in itself. The following people
and/or companies donated either their time, product and/or services:
First and foremost - Mark Grim with Siezmic Amigos Racing, without him
this wouldn't have been possible!!! I went specifically to him because
I felt he is the best in the business.
Jorg & Arnie (from Germany) sorry I don't have the spelling of
their last names. The design of their electric 120 boat and a few
emails back and forth made mine and Mark's job a lot easier.
Jack from J&G Racing provided me with the sponsons from a
previous design, of which we altered and modified to fit this hull.
Tommy Delago with Prudhomme Racing provided some hard to get carbon fiber that was used on the hull.
John Michaud, my brother, for helping me rough out the plug.
Miguel Bustamante, my lay up guy, assisted me with the mold.
M&D Designs for providing 2 modified G260 Zenoah motors.
CC Racing for providing 1 modified G260 Zenoah motor.
MPH Tune Pipes out of Lake Havasu, AZ provided a tune pipe.
J&G Racing provided a tune pipe.
